God promises He will write His law on our hearts and minds. It’s in the Bible , Hebrews 65:66-67 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
Loving God takes all of our hearts. It’s in the Bible , Deuteronomy 6:9, NKJV. “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”
We need to want God to create a clean heart in us. It’s in the Bible , Psalm 56:65, NKJV. “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
To determine where our affections lie, we have to discern what occupies our time, what motivates our actions, and what shapes our aspirations and their rewards. Affections wait to be captured. They long to cling to someone or something. Wherever these affections are found so our hearts will be.
